Cardrona Bliss is a luxurious self-contained studio apartment located at picturesque Cardrona Valley. The resort has views of the Cardrona Valley, Mt. Cardrona and the Pisa Ranges. It is Located on the Crown Range, State Highway 89. At 1,121 meters this is the highest state highway in New Zealand and joins the townships of Wanaka, Arrowtown and Queenstown.
Wanaka is only 20 minutes and Queenstown is 40 minutes drive away. Queenstown International Airport is 35 minutes drive away. Set up perfectly for the keen Skier/Snowboarder, with only a short drive to the Snow Farm, Snow Park and Cardrona Ski field you'll be able to enjoy grabbing the first lift of the day with no difficulty. The nearest ski field is The Cardrona Valley Ski field. The Remarkables and The Coronet Peak is just a short 45 minute drive away near Queenstown.
With trails open for hiking and mountain biking in the warmer months, the Cardrona Valley is a popular route for those wanting to mix some adventure activity with a scenic drive. The eastern view to the Pisa range houses the Snow Farm and Snow Park ski areas with cross country, alpine skiing and extensive mountain biking terrain in the summer. The northern view takes in the river valley that runs to Wanaka and the mountains that surround the lake in the distance. Gold mining town in the 1800's and a farming community until this day is what is destined to be one of the most distinctive and outstanding ski and alpine villages in the southern hemisphere.
Just down the road you can hire horses for the day, or pop over to Gibston Valley and partake in a little wine tasting at the award winning Central Otago wineries. Drive to Wanaka for kayaking, windsurfing or tramping through Mt Aspiring National Park or stay in, have a swim, read a book, enjoy a few wines, feed the horses in the paddock across or take a walk as nature abounds in this area. Monster Trucks, Criffel Peak Safaris, Heliskiing & Paragliding are there too in the area.
There is a golf course in Wanaka. Wanaka has some outstanding Spa retreats for indulgent relaxation and a fantastic Transport & Toy Museum at the airport and stunning scenery for local sightseeing. Don't miss out the popular Maze and Puzzling World. At the end of the day socialize and enjoy the BBQ or a meal at the historical Cardrona Hotel. Cardrona hotel has a fascinating history (a resident ghost and tale of Chinese labours’ contribution in 1860s) and it is worth checking out this historical establishment (very reliable for a good meal and a pint). However it is strongly recommended to book a table in advance during the peak season. Not to mention the much-loved Cardrona Hall and Church. The hall hosts the annual Cardrona Folk Music Festival, which is held on Labour Weekend in October.
